The United Nations launched the Life Cycle Initiative in 2002, exactly 20 years ago, with the goal of reinforcing the importance of thinking about the impacts of any activity, of any decision, in an integrated way, considering every link in the chain and all categories together. Thus, beyond identifying process improvements, we would avoid the (mere) transfer of problems between actors.
Rio+20, in 2012, corroborated this direction, with several international manifestos, including the document “The Future We Want” itself, the WBCSD Vision 2050, a statement by the Global Compact in Brazil, among others.
Another ten years later, we recognize that Life Cycle-oriented management requires continuous action. Rede ACV decided to develop the LCA Maturity Assessment to support organizations along this journey.
The goal of the LCA Maturity is to provide a strategic Diagnosis of the orientation towards Life Cycle Thinking (LCT), through an automated and confidential questionnaire that positions the organization's maturity against the challenges. Then, a set of possible actions indicates potential maturity advances.
The Diagnosis serves as a starting point (= snapshot) for an Action Plan (= motion picture).
Developed by Fundação Espaço ECO, with contributions and validation from Rede ACV member companies, the Diagnosis is available on our website. Access it and check your organization's LCA Maturity!
