On September 25, 2025, the Brazilian Ceramic Center (CCB) welcomed the leaders of Rede ACV | Brazilian Business Network for Life Cycle Assessment for its Bimonthly Meeting, in a gathering marked by technical debates and an immersion in the world of ceramics.
Debate on life cycle and ISO 14001
The program began with a presentation by Darci Francisco Peruque Júnior, Certification Manager at CCB, who addressed the complementarity between Life Cycle Thinking, Life Cycle Assessment and the ISO 14001 standard. The session brought important reflections on how to integrate environmental management practices with assessment tools that enhance sustainability in the sector.
Visit to the CCB facilities
Next, participants took a technical tour of the CCB facilities, guided by superintendent Ana Paula Margarido, Design and Innovation Manager Marcos Antonio Serafim, and Gabriela Demarque, a CCB researcher who also serves as coordinator of Rede ACV's Environmental Labeling WG. The activity allowed visitors to see the center's infrastructure up close and understand how the tests and studies carried out contribute to advancing quality and sustainability in the ceramic industry.
Tour of Grupo Embramaco
The program also included a special tour of the Grupo Embramaco facilities, organized by Hozana Paula Cogo Meneguelle, the company's Environmental Management Supervisor. The visit made it possible to learn about practices applied in the industry and how they relate to life cycle and sustainability concepts.
Joint commitment
The meeting reinforced the importance of integration among research institutions, business associations and industry to promote innovative and sustainable solutions. CCB thanks Rede ACV for the opportunity for exchange and reaffirms its commitment to being an active agent in developing practices that combine quality, innovation and socio-environmental responsibility.
