Rede ACV's Carbon Booklet

“Carbon” is an increasingly constant topic in the discussions of many organizations, both in the context of public policies (national and international) and in the promotion of Environmental Labeling, since it can provide a competitive edge for a product/service, in addition to representing a corporate commitment to the 2030 Agenda and an opportunity for Communication with internal and external audiences.

Rede ACV therefore conducted a survey to understand organizations' demands regarding this topic. As a result, the following wishes were mapped:

. Better understand the commitments made by organizations in this context;
. Promote internal engagement within the organization;
. Use the knowledge as support/input for communication with Stakeholders and
. Avoid greenwashing traps.

As a result of this effort, and in order to meet these demands, Rede ACV's Labeling Working Group is pleased to share Rede ACV's Carbon Booklet, which features infographics and short, explanatory texts that seek to broaden the understanding of the terms and topics of the Carbon world, in addition to presenting current data on Brazil and the world. Written collaboratively, it aims to meet important expectations:

. Understand “trendy” terms. E.g.: Carbon Neutral; Net Zero; etc.
. Better understand the discussions at the COPs (United Nations Climate Conference) and the consequences for individuals and the organization.
. Understand Scopes 1, 2 and 3 with regard to GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emission inventories.
. Identify implications for the organization/area of responsibility, as well as what can be done.

So today we are sharing the Booklet so that organizations and their employees can follow the discussions planned for COP27, in Egypt, in a more informed way. Soon after, still in November, we will hold a launch event with special guests and partners. Stay tuned on our social media!

We highlight and thank the contributions of our members 3MInstituto AkatuIBICT – Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and TechnologyKPMG and WayCarbon, who made this important delivery of Rede ACV's Labeling Working Group possible.
